Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Cochin – Fort Kochi Sightseeing (40 km / 1 hr)

Welcome to God’s Own Country – Kerala! Upon arrival at Cochin Airport, you’ll be greeted by our representative and transferred to your hotel. After check-in, set out for a half-day sightseeing tour of Fort Kochi, one of Kerala’s most charming colonial towns.
Attractions include:

St. Francis Church – the oldest European church in India
Chinese Fishing Nets – a legacy of ancient trade with China
Santa Cruz Basilica – an architectural gem of the Portuguese era
Jewish Synagogue and Jew Town
Mattancherry (Dutch) Palace – known for its mural paintings and royal artifacts

(Note: Dutch Palace and Jewish Synagogue remain closed on Fridays and Saturdays.)
Overnight stay at the hotel in Cochin.

Day 2: Cochin – Munnar (150 km / 4 hrs)

After breakfast, embark on a scenic drive to Munnar, the jewel of Kerala’s hill stations. En route, witness the picturesque Cheeyappara and Valara waterfalls, and rolling tea gardens that stretch as far as the eye can see.
Upon arrival, check into your hotel and relax. Spend the evening enjoying the serene surroundings or explore the local market.
Overnight stay at the hotel in Munnar.

Day 3: Munnar Sightseeing Tour

After breakfast, proceed for a full-day exploration of Munnar’s famous attractions:

Eravikulam National Park – home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr
Mattupetty Dam & Kundala Lake – enjoy boating in the calm waters surrounded by tea plantations
Echo Point – famous for its natural echo phenomenon
Shooting Point and Tea Museum – learn about Kerala’s tea culture and production

Return to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay in Munnar.

Day 4: Munnar – Thekkady (140 km / 4 hrs)

After breakfast, drive to Thekkady, renowned for its lush greenery, wildlife, and spice plantations. Upon arrival, check in at the hotel and unwind.
Later, visit Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary and enjoy a boat ride on Periyar Lake, where you can spot elephants, deer, and exotic birds in their natural habitat.
Optional activities include:

Spice plantation tour
Jungle trekking
Bamboo rafting
Elephant ride

In the evening, visit the local spice market for souvenirs and fresh Kerala spices.
Overnight stay at the hotel in Thekkady.

Day 5: Thekkady – Kumarakom (130 km / 4 hrs)

After breakfast, proceed to Kumarakom, one of the most enchanting backwater destinations in Kerala. Upon arrival, check in to your resort and relax.
Kumarakom lies along the Vembanad Lake, a vast network of canals, streams, and lagoons surrounded by lush greenery. Visit the Kumarakom Bird Sanctuary, a paradise for bird lovers where you can spot migratory species like Siberian storks, wild ducks, herons, and egrets.
Spend the evening enjoying the calm backwaters and serene views of the sunset.
Overnight stay at the resort in Kumarakom.

Day 6: Kumarakom – Cochin Departure (85 km / 2.5 hrs)

After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive back to Cochin. Transfer to Cochin Airport for your onward journey, carrying beautiful memories of your Kerala Backwater Tour.
